Here are the color codes for all the resistors used in this chapter:
Make note that every resistor has a gold band on the end - this is for the 5% tolerance, which means that each resistor can be inaccurate by as much as 5%.
Because every resistor has a gold band, sometimes I won't mention it when describing one - for example I'll say "brown black brown" instead of "brown black brown gold".
Resistors are non-polarized components, meaning, when you plug one into a circuit, you can plug either leg into either position, and it will work exactly the same.
Always feel encouraged to measure the value of a resistor if you find the color codes hard to read, or if you're otherwise not sure what value it is.
We are using 22 AWG (American Wire Gauge) wire. So to strip the insulation off of your wire, use the hole with the 22 on your wire strippers.
